Dwarf dwarves

Paul Bodnar wrote to me last year with great enthusiasm. These baby dwarf crocodiles were the reason why - captive bred in Florida. As you should know by now, dwarf crocodiles are the smallest of the crocodile species (although not the smallest crocodilian - that honour is reserved for the dwarf caiman, Paleosuchus palpebrosus), but you can't get much smaller than hatchling dwarf crocodiles! These little guys are about a million miles removed from Nile crocodiles ripping zebras in two, but that just reflects the general perceptions that most people have about crocodilians.

Take a few moments to learn about the African dwarf crocodile - you might be surprised!
