Flat Dog Resting

Saltwater Crocodile imprint

This month's picture was taken by Garry Lindner, Crocodile Management Officer for Kakadu National Park, NT, Australia. For a picture that doesn't actually show a crocodile, this is one stunning crocodile image! Garry has the following to say...

"Another interesting croc shot, it's got a few people out here fascinated how the croc left his or her imprint without smudging the body profile left in the sand when sliding sideways, I'll leave that up to the viewer. I took the photo on a turtle nesting beach. Crocodiles travelling around the shoreline rest up on the beaches to get out of choppy and rough seas, particularly on the sandy part during high tide. They also frequent the beach line at high tide hunting for turtle hatchlings and the nesting adult turtles."

Would you like to enter your best photograph as a potential Pic of the Month? Send it to me and I'll include the best here each month. Each year I run a competition where the best photograph each year is awarded a prize. To be in contention the picture must, above all, capture your attention.
