The measuring station

Our inimitable measuring station, with its state of the art measuring table! Four star pickets and an old door come in very handy in the field, and a table can be built in a matter of seconds under suitable shade. Here we are measuring a relatively large freshwater crocodile. Measurement is the most important part of the entire project - it's what all the surveys, capture and hard work are all about. Therefore it's very important to ensure that all measurements are accurate, and that the person recording the data carefully checks what they have written. Many research projects waste a lot of hard work because the data collection is not carefully thought out or not executed carefully.
