Caiman yacare

This photograph illustrates the rather haphazard arrangement of premaxillary teeth in this Yacare caiman, apparently a result of being held in captivity (e.g. diet, stress, space). Older animals sometimes possess lower teeth which entirely pierce the upper jaw and project above the skin.
