Big Gecko was established in 2006 by Adam Britton and Erin Britton, building upon their 16 years' combined experience in wildlife consultancy, research and natural history filming. Covering both research and filming is ideal for us - it enables us to promote interesting science, natural history and conservation issues to a wider audience fascinated by the timeless appeal of crocodiles and the people who work with them.

Dr Adam Britton
Adam is a British-born zoologist, now an Australian Citizen, who moved to Darwin in 1997 after gaining his Ph.D. studying bat echolocation and feeding ecology from the University of Bristol. He worked for over 9 years as a Research Officer and then Senior Researcher at Darwin-based Wildlife Management International Pty Ltd run by biologist Dr Grahame Webb. Adam worked on a huge range of both field-based and analysis-based projects for a variety of national and international clients, and was responsible for attracting, organising and working on dozens of television and film projects. Adam chose to leave in early 2006 to pursue a more focussed direction, and formed Big Gecko shortly thereafter. Adam also created and runs the online crocodilian educational resource and the Croc Blog. Adam's resumé is available on request.

Erin Britton
Erin is an Australian biologist who grew up in northern Australia, most of it in the Northern Territory. She has a deep understanding of wildlife and community issues in the region, particularly regarding crocodile management. She gained a degree in Environmental Studies at Charles Darwin University in 2004, which included a 6-month study exchange at Aarhus University in Denmark concentrating on environmental science and wildlife management issues. Erin has always valued a strong working knowledge of northern Australian wildlife and habitats, and has been an invaluable partner with Adam on crocodile and other wildlife issues since 2001. She has also worked at Greening Australia and as assistant coordinator for Frogwatch North on feral animal research and community issues. Erin's resumé is available on request.
